International activities

The Netherlands Youth Institute performs several international activities:

  • Exchanging information on the best ways to open up scientific evidence of the effectiveness of youth interventions to professionals in the field.
  • Providing fact sheets, databases and general information on Dutch youth policy via its website www.youthpolicy.nl
  • Implementing approved youth interventions in The Netherlands, such as 'Triple P', 'Communities that Care', the 'Nurse Family Partnership' and 'High Scope'.
  • Organizing expert meetings and study visits that bring mutual inspiration to policy makers and practitioners, extending the knowledge of each other's youth programmes.
  • Initiating and participating in international projects through EU funding.

On request of the Dutch Ministry for Children and Families, the Netherlands Youth Institute is the Dutch correspondent for the 'European Knowledge Centre on Youth Policy' and mandated body for the 'EU Twinning Programme' on youth matters.
The Netherlands Youth Institute is also the Dutch National Agency of the European programme 'Youth in Action' and of 'Eurodesk', and a member of 'Eurochild' and 'ChildonEurope'.
